Springbank Pupils Promote Positive Play
Springbank Primary Academy have a new crew in town. Dubbed 'peer mediators' the group of KS2 volunteers are on-hand during playtimes to help younger pupils.
In an inspiring display of leadership and empathy, the mediators all have natural ability to engage and forge trusting relationships with others, mixed with keenness to put their training into practice.
The children have been given pointers on how to help resolve conflict, promote teamwork and encourage positive play with younger children who need some extra guidance.
Assistant Headteacher Charlotte Blake said:
Our trained peer mediators have truly transformed the school playground and playtimes. Their dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive environment has made a noticeable difference and they have played a crucial role in assisting our younger year groups in transitioning smoothly back into the classroom after lunch. Their efforts not only ensure a harmonious playtime but also create a focused and ready-to-learn atmosphere, setting a wonderful example for our school community.
